Samuel Ellis Scheinman is one of the fashion industry’s most sought-after casting directors. Having studied fashion design at Cornell University and Central Saint Martins, Scheinman brings a unique sensitivity to the interplay between clothing and character, as well as a refined eye for how talent can embody and enhance a designer’s vision. These skills have made him a trusted collaborator for brands, creative directors, and editors.
Scheinman began his career in 2011, working for the most prestigious brands and creatives in the major fashion capitals. Since 2016, he has been integral to Saint Laurent’s runway shows and advertising campaigns. He was the casting director for i-D Magazine from 2019 to 2024, overseeing the covers of every issue during Alastair McKimm’s tenure as editor-in-chief. Between 2018 and 2021, Scheinman worked closely with Virgil Abloh to execute the designer’s inclusive vision for Louis Vuitton Men’s shows and campaigns. Scheinman has cast Marc Jacobs‘ runway shows since 2021.
