Olivier Schawalder is a Swiss-born, Paris-based hair stylist whose artistry is defined by graphic shapes, bold use of color and breathtaking versatility. His expertise designing wigs and bespoke hair concepts have made him a favorite among brands such as Mugler, Dior and Swarovksi, and have led to collaborations with photographers and stylists such as Carlijn Jacobs, Robbie Spencer, Suzanne Koller, David Sims, Paul Kooiker, Collier Schorr, Imruh Asha, Katie Burnett and Emmanuelle Alt.
Schawalder’s editorial clients include the French and Italian editions of Vogue, Self Service, M Le magazine du Monde, D la Repubblica, Beauty Papers, the French and Italian editions of Harper’s Bazaar, W, Dazed, System and Perfect. His commercial clients include Dior, Mugler, Chanel, Acne Studios, Hermès, Swarovski, Isabel Marant, Armani, Lanvin, Givenchy, Zara and Jean Paul Gaultier. His work was featured in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs 2023 exhibition, Des Cheveux et des Poils, which chronicled the evolution of hair and identity across seven centuries.
