Kevin Ryan began his career as a hair stylist in the 1980s, leaving his hometown of Exeter for London during a time of dramatic transformation in fashion and style. Drawn to the creativity of hairdressing, Ryan quickly established himself by translating the bold, expressive looks of London’s youth culture into editorial features for i-D and The Face. His technical expertise, combined with a keen eye for emerging trends, has established him as a leading collaborator in the industry for four decades.
Ryan has overseen hair for campaigns and runway shows for brands such as Chloé, Tiffany & Co., The Row, Lacoste, Carolina Herrera, Aveda, Lee Jeans, Zara, Redken and Tommy Hilfiger. His editorial work has appeared in Self Service, W, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Mastermind, Elle and Esquire. His versatility has led him to work with a broad range of entertainers including Beyoncé, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bill Skarsgård, Julianne Moore, Debbie Harry, Willem Dafoe, Kristen Stewart, Colman Domingo, Penelope Cruz, Chloë Sevigny, Siena Miller and Margaret Qualley.
