Erwan Frotin

Erwan Frotin is a photographer known for his sculptural and evocative still life compositions. Frotin initially studied medicine and biology before pursuing photography at ÉCAL in Lausanne, Switzerland. His career began with a notable commission for French Vogue, then under the artistic direction of M/M Paris. His approach to still life photography – infused with his interest in botany, zoology, theater and color theory – achieved critical acclaim and established new standards for the genre.

Frotin’s work has been widely exhibited in the United States, France, Switzerland and Italy. He has received numerous accolades for his contributions to contemporary photography, including France’s prestigious Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. His ongoing book series, FLUX (Note Note Éditions) exemplifies his long-term commitment to exploring the diversity of nature and the unexpected relationships between the human and non-human world.  

Frotin’s editorial work has appeared in AnOther, Arena Homme+, Numéro Homme, Numéro China, Paradis, System, and The New York Times Magazine. His commercial clients include Apple, Berluti, Cartier, Dior Jewelry and Loewe.
