Dan Jackson is widely recognized for his capacity to apply the language of classical portraiture to fashion photography. His deep understanding of the clients he collaborates with—whether for editorial or advertising—enables him to create images that are visually striking and align with the ethos of each commission. Jackson is notable for his range: he is equally at ease directing his subjects within minimal studio environments, busy city streets or dramatic location sets, crafting unique narratives for each project.
In 2018, Jackson contributed work to the exhibition VOID at Red Hook Labs, a 1 Granary initiative highlighting emerging fashion designers through the photography of internationally acclaimed photographers. His work was also included in The Eye of the Beholder, an exhibition at 80WSE Gallery that explored over a century of cosmetics history.
Jackson has created still and motion campaigns for Tiffany & Co, Dior, Zara, Gap, H&M, MAC Cosmetics, Calvin Klein, COS, Clinique, Bulgari and others. His editorial clients include Vogue, GQ, Elle France, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Harper’s Bazaar Italia and i-D.
